Privacy Policy — Fire Alarm Messages

Fire Alarm Messages (“the app”) is built by TechBran to run locally on your device.
This policy describes what the app does with information — which is, in almost every
case, nothing that leaves your phone.
The short version
- We do not collect your data. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics,
no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
- Announcements you create are stored only on your device.
- The app talks to the internet in exactly two situations, both started by you:
downloading the on-device models, and — only if you choose to add your own API
key — sending announcement text to a cloud vendor you selected.
What stays on your device
- Announcements and audio. Every message you write, every generated voice file,
and every exported panel file is stored in the app’s private storage on your
device. We have no server and never receive a copy.
- API keys. If you add a vendor API key (ElevenLabs, Google, OpenAI), it is
stored only on your device, and it is excluded from Android’s cloud backup and
from device-to-device transfer.
- Backups. Your announcement database is excluded from Android’s cloud backup.
If you use Android’s direct device-to-device transfer when moving to a new phone,
your library moves with you over that direct connection; it still never passes
through us.
When the app uses the internet
- Model downloads. The two on-device models (writing and voices, about 3 GB)
are downloaded once from our distribution endpoints. This is a plain file
download; no personal information is sent.
- Cloud vendors you enable (optional). The app works fully offline with its
on-device models. If you add your own API key for ElevenLabs, Google, or OpenAI
and select that vendor, then — and only then — the text of the announcement you
are generating or voicing is sent to that vendor using your key. The app states
this in the interface whenever it applies. That processing is governed by the
vendor’s own terms and privacy policy, under your account with them. Removing
your key or selecting the on-device engine stops any such transmission. The app
also makes a small authentication check when you save a key and fetches the
vendor’s voice and model catalogs, using your key.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not collect, receive, sell, share, or process any personal data.
Crash reporting and analytics are not built into the app. If Google Play collects
aggregate install or crash statistics for developers, that collection is governed by
Google’s terms, happens on Google’s side, and contains no announcement content.
Children
The app is a professional trade tool intended for users 18 and older. It is not
directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a
new effective date. Because the app stores everything locally, changes cannot
retroactively affect data we never had.
